I wouldn't recommended sand star, they slip to much for racing, I would recommend skat traks, or paddle brats.

ITP Sand Stars worked for me duning, I used to have a similar build, so if you just plan on strictly duning, and you don't care about hill/drag racing, then those tires would be good, other than they are heavy. Just my personal experience with sand stars, I'm not super familiar with paddles.

the only reason I have sand stars currently is because they came with the bike when I bought it, and I can't afford to buy another set, but if I did, I personally wouldn't buy the sand stars, but the decision is up to you, there is a post in the lounge section about choosing paddles, you should post your info in there, and see what some of the more experienced guys think, also post that you are thinking about sand stars, and see what they think.

Yes, it should work with stock rims. And if you don't plan on drag racing any time soon, I would say those would be fine for you, even though I would not recommend them (but that isn't my decision, it is yours), they worked great for me and I didn't have a problem duneing with them, so there is my input, from personal experience with sand stars,

like I said there is a post in the lounge that I would suggest posting in, and see what other people think, because I don't have much experience with paddles, just a tiny bit of experience.

Fullerton sand sports. Worth a look online. Good people / good selection / price

I also buy from fullertons,

Not sure why someone would tell you they slip to much, or how they could even tell, all tires will slip in the sand but sand stars are 8 paddle with little extra cups, not enough traction is not a problem.
Sand stars are one of the best molded v blades out there, but to be honest your not going to see a big difference with any molded v blade, IMO sand skate1 are the best with skat trak edge being 2nd, but unless your into drag racing it doesn't matter, buy what's cheapest. I would recommend sticking with an 8" wheel.
Is sand lake has heavy wet sand I wouldn't use paddles, as I don't at pismo, your quad will be more fun to ride without them.

I'm not a paddle expert but I have tried a few different setup, 6-7-8 paddle haulers, gliders, extremes, sand stars, brats, sand skate 1, sharks, and edges. b2b, sls, reg buff, play cut, comp cut 20"-21"-22" 8-9-10" wheels and to be honest other then racing it really doesn't matter other then bounce and tire roll with the bigger tires.
