I hvae the E-start and I dont mind it one bit. Its come in handy a few times...in some less than desireable situations. Its really just a personal preference. I'd like to have the kicker on it as well though because the E-starts have had a few issues.

yeah I had a blaster when I was 10 years old,but grew out of it very quik L.O.L.

I have had my 2006 450er ever since it was new and i have never had problems with anything relating to the starting/charging system. The battery is still O.E.
I ride my R at least 3 times a week every week, and if I ever purchase another R it will be a elctric/start as well.

Electric... because you can put a kick start on it.

If your on the trail in a rough spot, kick can be a bitch - I've been there

Kick.
I'm a girl and can start mine sitting down. As long as everything runs right it should only every take 1. Plus it's just one less thing you have to worry about.

My R is a kicker, i fell its easy to start, but my rapty 660 is like a dream cuz when you get froggie and kill it, starting back up is a breeze... but ive never had a es 450, to pick between the two.. next time it will be a electric and ill add the kicker...jmo.. :))

ill agree with the point of having an e-start and installing a kicker to it. I wouldnt mind having both...stalling on the side of a hill and trying to kick start can sumtimes be a biotch

I converted mine because I didn't notice my lights on once when I stopped (killed it via the switch and left key on!)..and had to get pull started...If I'd been on my own that would have been a nightmare. Also my E-start switch went bad and would try and start the bike as soon as you turned key on....(luckily I was in the garage when that started) I went kick and took the the other stuff off. I liked the e-start though...just worried about getting stranded!
