I ride all year no matter what, just bundle up and I have a trailer up the mountains around my way it's always warm in there when I am down lol . Hand guards with gauntlets work wonders too .

The factor that limits my riding is not the cold but the snow. I'll ride well below freezing, but that is only before the snow comes or after it melts a bit in the spring.

 

i love to ride when ever the road ices over , i love to go fast and crank it around to spin in circles. it doesnt seem smart or safe at all but its really fun lol.
also im going to waynoka soon as i get out of school in mid december (hoping its not cold) but will still go and ride no matter what the temp is

 

If your antifreeze is frozen, it's too cold to ride. LOL

 

i love riding frozen creeks and ponds. i can get a run at my pond, powerbrake and do a 360 all the way across it, its awesome. i like riding in the snow also as long as its not too deep that you're fighting it. the cold dont bother me as long as im completely covered, gloves, goggles, everything. but that means taking twice as long to get ready to ride, and that means i dont get to do it as much. my daughter throws a fit since i wont let her ride because of the cold too, that kinda puts a dampner on things.

 

Isn't that kinda sketchy? Lol I've seen to many of those shows where people are playing on ice then bam, they're swimming! Hahahha

I live in San Diego, my idea of cold is anything less then 70 degrees!

 

It's also worth noting that temperatures vary depending on the humidity and climate. 10 degrees here in Illinois feels much colder than 10 degrees in Colorado Or Montana where the humidity is much lower.

 

missouri has the worst of all weather. I dont like riding in temps lower than 50 because i can put on long underwear and wear a jacket and still be ok. any colder you need more clothing and more clothing means you cant move very good and when you cant move very good it just sucks.

I would rather it be a humid 100 degrees and sweating like a pig over being stiff and cold

I think its funny how the guys in arizona/texas ect where its dry complain about it being 110 degrees... try 110 and high humidity. florida has it the worst, 115 and crazy high humidity... now that sucks

 

I do 90% of my ridding in the snow.... Just make sure you're jetted for what ever temp you ride in.

 

i just bump the main up 2 sizes and run it on the limiter all day. lol. 4-snows are worth their weight in gold

 

I'd rather ride in the cold then ride in the heat... I wouldn't ride in the summer when I lived in Florida but I'm dieing to get out on the lake up here in New Hampshire!

Dress for it and where layers. After a few laps on the ice track you start tossing stuff cuz your sweating.

 

I draw the line at 60 degrees of course that is never here in San diego

 

Ya in between the 50s and 60s is cold where we're located at haha, I'd rather ride in the winter than summer tho, the summer here is too darn hot! Like high 115 degrees I believe.

 

I ride year round. It hardly ever snows here in my part of NC so I don't have to worry about that. Coveralls FTW! haha

 

^^ lol thats funny. ive seen my buddies hit grass in the ditch and go rolling. nobody ever got hurt tho after fact is funny

 

Summer time is too dame dusty... Spring and fall there's too much water and mud... Winter is a blast... Bikes stay clean, no dust or mud, trail system goes where ever you want to go and construction has slowed down for winter meaning most of my friends and I are off work for a few months.

 

the only draw back to cold is that stuff freezes after it gets melts and gets wet and then freezes again. THis past winter my kicker was frozen folded in, throttles get sticky and things tend to snap more. Overall I like snow and winter riding, it makes going up the hills much more challenging. a pair of over-alls, helmet, and a good pair of gloves and boots is essential.

 

We arw suited up with like a G of riding gear... We take our winter ridding pretty seriously.

Anyone ever install heated handlebar grips? I sure love those on my m/c

 

I have a set at home but never installed them.... from what I've read the stator doesn't push too much power and the grips might strain it.


I did however have a heated thumb at one point... that's was nice! I'm gonna have to get another one.

 

Ask long as the wind is managable. I can handle the cold as long as the wind isnt blowin up your skirt!!!

One time I was flying down a frozen road on my YFZ and saw some purdy nice lookin' ladies on the side of the road.... So what do you do, you gotta impress them of course! WRONG! Tried a drift and slammed a ditch and went head first like a rocket into the snow hahaha. Not so impressive.... lol

 

I rode at little sahara in january and it was between 11-20 degrees and snowing got a total of like 10 inches while we were there for the weekend made the dunes pretty fun to ride on with all the snow but damnn it was cold

 

Im done for the year, mx tracks are all closing so there no where to ride for me...

 

its never too cold. but when i cant ride in the snow, snowboarding takes over so i can be outside.

 

I cant take less than 40F outside. Generally Im always cold anyways (just the way I am) so I dislike flying thru the woods or whatever and wind makes you get cold easy.

Ive ridden in the snow before, paddles work very well for that. But honestly if its snowing or below 40F I aint going out. Winter is rebuild time for me.
