Grey fluid coming from over flow....

The vent hose coming from right side rear of the head that runs up to the black plastic head shield. If I'm correct its a over flow for the oil, I have rerouted it to leak out under my swing arm. Now to my question today we out in the trails and we see a little puddle of miky grey fluids. Sure enough it's coming outta that my rerouted line. What would cause the oil to become grey and milky, yet has zero smell of oil or coolant. Again all info would be great! I haven't drained any fluids yet but plan to tonight. Thanks for all responses!

Ok I just drained my oil, Oil from bottom of casing was clean as oil should be after a few rides.(goldish/brown/dirty) when I pulled the drain bolt beside the gear shifter thats where all the grey fluid came from. Anyone have ideas on what to check before I get to far into trying to blindly figure out where its coming from?

It's your trans fluid... The grey is clutch partics. Some is normal, a lot is either your clutch is about gone and slipping or you ride the clutch to much and it's eating it up. You should be changing you trans fluid every other oil change at least , I change mine every time... If you're not changing it often enough you could have excessive clutch particles because it just needs to be changed.

I wouldn't route the vent that low... One it's more susceptible to getting water and dirt in it and two it's going to drip out what ever is in the line on the ground instead of dripping back into the trans. I'd be willing to bet if you had it routed where it should you never would have seen the drips.

I just pulled everything and its all clutch side nothing from the motor oil ... filter was all gold and so was the crank oil. Only reason i rerouted the line was for the reason after i changed oil last time that vent hose that just sticks into the heat shield had oil running out after a ride(must have over filled and not check it) I do see what your saying though cause now when it heats up to that line it runs down the hose to the ground rather then having to climb up the hose so more will get out now. I will put it back to where it was and also check to make sure its not over filled. Just glad to know after changing oil its only clutch plates getting wore no big deal pass two rides I've been on them hard!!
