I have an 05 trx450r. Has a Yoshimura exhaust and stage 3 hot cams. It cuts out (sputters) at mid to full throttle. I adjusted the valves and changed spark plug (there was almost nothing left of the spark plug). It ran great (didn't cut out anymore) so I rode it for a little bit. I went to adjust the decompression valve and noticed the exhaust rocker arm roller was toast. It had about 1/4 inch of play in it. Yes I know, its terrible. I'm surprised it ran. Had a loud ticking tho. So I replaced it and adjusted the exhaust valves again. Now it has tons more low end power but cuts out at mid to full throttle. My question is how much can the stator be out of spec. I forget which wires it is but the one set of wires test 8.1 ohms of resistance. If i remember right its supposed to be between 9 and 25. Could that be the problem? Its not that far out of spec thats why I'm not sure how much that would make a difference. I just bought the quad to fix up so I'm not sure what size jets it has. Anyway, enough of my rambling. What do you think?
