What size sprocket should I use on my trx?

I do a lot of trail riding and the stock gearing is to high for my trails. So i was wondering what size sprockets (front and rear) I should use to get more torque

What year? 04-05, one down in the front would be 13T. For 06+, one down on the front is a 12T. Personally, I like to just change out the front. The rear is more involved and I don't see much difference. If you decide to change the rear, the general rule is that a 3 tooth difference is about equal to changing 1 tooth on the front. To go "down" in gearing by changing the rear sprocket, you would increase the number of teeth. So it is opposite the front.

So if i put a 13t in front and a 41t on the rear, how would that do?

I have the same problem! I was going to try to get used to riding mine like that in hopes of it making me faster but for the type of trails we have here in WV I think im just going to drop it down a tooth!

My cousin beats me on his 06 R with 12t in drag race up the hill. I have 13t 06 R about same mods to bike, but I'd you want more torque go one tooth down, you will loose few mph of you top speed, but you dont need top speed in trails anyways.

Riding easy with family I had a hard time going slow enough so I dropped to a 13 front and then a 40 rear. Worked out well. Tons of power and it will still go 60 wide open. When I go with faster riders I still have plenty of speed and no trouble keeping up. The 40 rear is a very large sprocket and if in real rocky areas may take a beating unless guarded.
