If you can get a good deal on it scoop it up. It will work as easily an a TRX FCR.
yfz fcr for a 05 450R good or not ?
I can get a 04 yfz450 fcr carb for a good price.Should i do it ? Will i need to do stuff to make it fit ?Is this a good yr carb ?Its a 39mm. I have a 05 450R and i want a fcr carb.I was told the 06 450R carbs & up wont fit 05's with out some hacking.I was told by a friend the yfz carb will work/fit >As you can see i dont always believe what he says.Any input or advice would be great

Yes they work good, you can wire the tps and keep ur hotstart with the yfz fcr, u might need a noss adapter or something comparable if ur still running the stock intake,
I just put my yfz carb on but i got bored to a 42.5 by racers edge. the throttle response is amazing. I would pick it up and then send it out to be bored out to a 42.5. you need a noss adapter or a after market air intake or run the 06 air box set up. you will be very happy with this set up.
Thank you guys for the input i just wasnt sure if there was a better yr for FCR carbs off a yfz (Example a 07 is better then a 04 ect or a crf is better) Thanks again guys
I like the crf fcr's better than the yfz's but with either one you will need to wire th tps and either get a noss or dasa adaptor or get a 06+ air boot and box
the crf carbs wont fit under your tank they are too tall.

I have 2 crf fcr's on my 05's and they fit fine it's on the 06+fcr with the sensor in them that wont fit the crf fcr's fit just finethe crf carbs wont fit under your tank they are too tall.

gotcha, does the hotstart and tps still work on those?
the er bikes dont have a hot start but if you get a r carb they will and the tps plugs right in to the stock 05 harness with no cutting it's nice, and the crf carb yo ujust have to re wire the tps it's easy and the hot start works fine with you have a aftermaket perch
the 39mm is not too small for the trx b/c the stock carb is a 42mm and the 06-08 is a 40mm i was thinkin of doin the same thing will it work fine as a 39mm?
