Just curious to see who has the most hours on theres and what kind of maintenance you have had to do to it. Oil changes, valve adjustments etc. Please let me know.

Well, im guessing i got 60 to 80 hours on mine, since i had it, wich is 2 months, and well i brought it in for first service and oil change at 30 or 40 hours so they could adjust the valves, but other then that i just have been doing oil changes, but i would like to know if theres anything else i should do ?

Do you know if they had to adjust the intake valves and replace the shims? Or did the adjust the exhaust side with the rocker arm? I am curious as to what was done because I am buying one and will be performing all the maintenance myself. I am concerned about adjusting the intake valves more because that seems like it is gonna be a pain in the a$$. What did they charge you for all this?

Well, they told me they checked the valves and they did not need adjusting, they also changed the oils, and replaced a screw, they charged me 200$(cdn) but i need it cuz im gettin extended warranty

The Honda shop I go to said that the TRX450R is different than the 400ex. It does not need to have it's valves adjusted, just change the oil and check the nuts and bolts cause they like to come loose.

Well I think that was part of the point of going to shims on the intake side of the engine. Shims do not go out of adjustment as easily. As for the exhaust side it still has rocker arms, similiar to that of a 400ex, but not exactly the same.
