Its Funny you expanded that mid pipe, I’ve never had an issue at that point, however I still have lots of issues with the point where it goes into the CNCed inlet on the pipe. They rattle so bad at that point. I have one that is loose and rattles, but I CANNOT get the pipe out of that aluminum piece. And believe me, I have tried and beet the snot out of it. It’s insane, it’s loose, but won’t come apart. I got a new aluminum inlet, but doesn’t do me any good if I can’t get it apart lol.
yup, expanded it at the mid pipes so they fit snugly together..its TIGHT. IDK if I will ever get it apart. i did it cause somehow it was on there so tight i had to beat it off and deformed it a bit last time i had it all apart.
As for where the 2nd mid pipe connects to the can itself, i expanded that at one point and goofed as I went a little overboard. took out the dremel and sanding drum and had to sit there for a bit. mine didnt rattle before, but was loose however. i always use copper rtv to seal these types of exhausts together as i feel they never seal as well as they should.
my lonestar exhaust honestly sealed and fit together better as does the HMF on the 400ex..but you know dasa is apparently king. i wont deny it, its loud and makes good power but the craftsmanship is decent. their biggest issues is the use of 2 mid pipes, if they were smart they would make the can have a welded on mid pipe. HMF and others do it and doesnt seem to crack from the vibration or wear and tear.
if i really wanted to be cool, my friend is a custom fabricator and can build an entire exhaust from scratch if he wanted to. he did his old 450r by making a progressive stepped pipe to the muffler for i think the pro circuit the quad came with. was trick!
