Is anyone going to the shootout?

TULSA, Okla. (December 14, 2007) – With all the clay necessary to construct Tulsa Expo Raceway hauled into the building over the past several days, the 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout is just two weeks away.

With approximately 800 entries already submitted for the Tulsa Shootout, which takes place on December 29-30, over 1,000 total entries in the 24 different classes of Micros, Karts and Quads are expected.

Currently, four of the Micro classes lead the way in entry counts, with 94 Multis, 94 "A" Class, 92 Non-Wing and 82 Restricted "A" Class.

Parking for the 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout takes place on Thursday, December 27, with practice on Friday, December 28. Heat races follow on Saturday, December 29, with semi-features and championship feature events on Sunday, December 30.

Right now there are 20 quads pre-entered in the pro class. Should be very fast close racing.

Quads:

There was a pair of sweepers in Quad action, with South Dakota's Michael Coburn and Oklahoma's Corey Snapp riding to victory lane in both portions of Pro and Amateur Quad competition, respectively.

Coburn broke into the lead at the outset of the 250cc Pro feature, with Danny McGraw trying to keep pace. Coburn slipped away in the final stages to take the win in front of McGraw and Josh Hibdon.

Coburn led throughout in the Open Pro feature as well to complete his second Tulsa Shootout sweep of Pro Quad action in as many years, surviving a late bid from Frank Batista with McGraw taking the show position.

Snapp battled past Colby Jones on the fourth lap en route to taking the Open Amateur Quad win in front of Nathan Wolff and Coy Burton, then chased down race-long leader Amanda Howe on the ninth of ten laps to win the 250cc Quad feature. Jordan Peck slipped around Howe on the final lap to take second, with Howe settling for third.

I won my open pro heat, and lead the entire race until two turns to go in the 250 pro heat when someone got in the back of me and my bike stalled. That sent me to the last chance qualifier where I was in second on the first lap when Tim Batista slammed me and sent me flying over the handle bars. The race was red flagged and restarted, but I had to start on the third row. I came back and got fifth, but only the top three transfered. In the open pro A-main I had fifth gate pick and got to choose from very inside or very outside. I went to the outside thinking there would be grip like there had been all week. Well there was nothing and I spun my tires all the way to the first turn and was sitting in dead last. I passed a few and ended up 10th. I guess I'll have to try again next year. It was a very well put on race. Very organized and a great, fast track that stayed tacky the whole week. If you ever get a chance to go race it I would definitly do it.

Thanks, Is Nathan Wolf the one on a red honda like 49 or something. If so I think he ran the open am and 250 am. He did well in one (dont remember which) and with a couple more laps probably would have won it.
Yes, Tice did build Dustin Clarks motor. They pitted with us, and we race with them all the time up in Iowa. Very fast quad and great rider.
