Hey guys I got a 08 trx450er the valves needs shimmed it won’t start off the button I shimmed then but the intake is to tight I got a 1.20 shim in in and can’t fit nothing under it I put different valve not new but it’s that same why do I have to buy new valves ?? Thanks

You have titanium valves that tend to wear fast. Between that and the valve seats wearing, the valve slowly moves further up into the head and then reducing the shim size. If you are at 1.20 and still have no clearance, that means you need to remove the head and send it in for service. You’ll need new seats, new valves, and a valve job.

May i recommend going with SS valves? For longevity?

Yes thats what hes telling you. Its time to put new valves in. The 06+ Have titanium valves, better performance but they Ware out faster, stainless steal valves last longer. If it were me I’d go with a little more reliability versus performance. Just a suggestion, But thats up to you. It is time to replace, is what hoser is saying. SS Ferreira is a good choice.

I put an APE assembled head in my 04 a little over 2 years ago. My OEM valves in that head was out of shim-able space, and towards the end of the OEM head I was shimming 3 times a year, The APE head measurements have not budged since installation 2 years ago. I dont know if its available for an 06er.
