stupid question

well i feel like an idiot asking this but i rather be save then sorry......is this the right oil to put in the trans of a trx450r beacuse the manual says hp trans oil but doesnt say the weight and this is 80w/85w so is this the right stuff? thanks for your help

I use Vavaline 10-40 for atv's in my engine and tranny and it works great! B)

BTW, its not stupid for asking, its stupid if you don't ask and put the wrong stuff in. Now thats stupid! :lol:

i see some people here are using 80w/85w does'nt the manual say to use 10/40w??

Yes, the manual says 10/40 but you can use this stuff too.

the dealer said that trans oils weight is measured different

desert, thanks for the info, i think im going to try that stuff out. do you have to order it over the net, or can you normally find it locally?

desert450r, i like the idea of running delo 400 because thats what i use in my truck but how do you know it meets jaso/ma. i thought somewere in the manual it said not to use diesel oils because the additives in it would affect the clutch??
