I just bought a stock 05 trx450r and i was wondering what mods would be the best to start with. Also is the motoworks sr4 exhaust system any good.

I'd bet more than half of the users on this site will recommand an HRC KIT

comes with

Exhaust ( HRC HEADER and Tip)
Proper Jettng
CamShaft
a different air box lid
n something else fogot what im missing

if your going to be spending over 400$ on an exhaust get something worth ur money like DASA, Sparks, Rossier, and some other ones i cant think off my head
The '05 hrc kit doesn't come with the header.
does the kit come with jets for the stock pipe or would i have to buy a new one
When i got my 04, i added a HMF full pipe with the airbox lid off (had to rejet) which made it a lot faster. Then added a stage 11 hotcam which really helps a lot. Thats all i have done to mine and it is fast. Go DASA on the pipe if u can afford it. (more hp than the HMF)
Ride safe and responsible!!
The common exhausts for the most overall power are Dasa, Rage, Rossier. All other aftermarket exhausts will still be better than stock. If you are looking for the most power increase, go with Hotcam Stage 2, exhaust, remove the airbox lid, and get the HRC Jet Kit (needle, and 180 main jet). Then you will probably want a better suspension set up.

oh Shi-t forgot about that -_- lol my bad
what kind of budget do you have? and what kind of power are you looking for i.e. top end drag racing, arm ripping mid range or something you can lug the heck out of in the woods? the budget you have will be the biggest limiting factor also there is a link in the engine section about uncorking the 04-05 450's on a budget.
good luck
Sorry it took so long to reply I just got back in town from work. For the amount that i have to spend is about $1,000. For my riding i mainly just ride the dunes but i also like to drag race a little and i want something thats still somewhat reliable but is fast if i want to line up and race

id go for an aftermarket exaust, cam, and piston, then when youre ready get some portwork done.
