I would suggest more compression, with the hcIII on a stock bore motor, you are going to give up low end over the hcII and the compression will help bring that back

yeah my head work already did that too, is a high compression piston the only way to get bottom end??

thanks for the reply i read a big wriite up on it as well doent look to be worth my time to change!!
ok you talked me into it i have a 14.25 Cp coming my way ;)
Compression and displacment the more of these you have the more this cam will do for you.

i have a 3mil bor and 3 mil stroke or a 501 went from hot cams 2 to 3. wow BIG difference. I thought i was going to lose low end to it. i was way wrong. thing pulls like a freight train now al the way through the power band.

14+:1 compression should work on a stock bore for this cam. the biggest thing to running a big cam and having low end is being able to create a vacuum behind the throttle plate higher compression is the number one way to do this.

After your piston i would recommend a stroker crank. It's alot more work than a big bore but once it's done it's down you can later put on a new cylinder and bore it to build a monster.

By the way you will not be disappoionted with that piston at all.
my bike runs hard as hell with it, im at stock compression on a little 470 bigbore.

poorboy, that is the setup I'm going for +3 bore, +3mm stroke. Are you running the Hot Rod crank?
What piston and compression are you running? I'm going to stick with the stage 2 at first. But it sounds
like the upgrade to stage 3 will be coming. Thanks.
