Woke up this morning at 2am with a 102 fever and had a 100.5 at 9am. Was plannin on going to st. Joe To ride with Jeff and His family. Had decided not to till I called Jeff at 9 he convinced me to come down thanks Jeff had a blast.

Any way getting to the good stuff both bike ran very strong.

Jeff's was the stronger of the 2 his is more dialed in by far and much better set up, mine isn't shaby but Jeff has spent a lot of time and has some better pieces to the puzzle.

Not a alot of fast bikes showed up but when we got down to the flats there was a stretched banshsee runnin good and mean and a couple YFZ's 450s layed down and stretched.

Oh yeah and there was a raptor don't know what was done to it but but the kid weighed 120 at best.

Any who the only one we saw as a problem was the banshee he was runnin mean and hard.

Unitl this weekend neiter of us had run since the new mods. Jeff had some more head work and switched to a HCII you'll have to ask about his old cam. I stepped up from a stage 2 to 3.

Well we were flat wrong that the stretched banshee would be an issue I ran out in front of him from the back of the pack 3-4 times. By the way launching a 501 with knobbies in the sand is very tricky.

And Jeff well he slaughters us all. Well not me when i got a good launch but every on els he layed waste to. I could stay with in a length or to if i got a good launch.

Greatest part was laying wasted to the hard runnin banshee. after he got destroyed the secound time he ran to the sidlines for the rest of the time we were there.I can only imagine the questions his friends were asking and the things going through his mind when a couple of stock swinger 4 strokes destroyed his stretched banshee.

You'll have to ask Jeff for more details when he gets back tomorrow the day is kinda blurry, remember that being sick part yeah it's all comin back very fast now that the drugs and a adrenaline have worn off.

P.S. Ask Jeff about the 440 EX that was a hoot.

Man wish I could have been there. My heads out being ported. Hope to be there next weekend.

Was the Banshee piloted by an older gentleman with long grey hair and beard?
If so, I would have liked to seen your R's taking him, I haven't seen any do that yet.

Come on Jeff, chime in with "the rest of the story".
If you stayed overnight you probably had to swim out of there this morning. LOL
Sounds like an awesome time....stomping banshees is always a blast...espescially since most of them don't think 4 strokes stand a chance.

Glad both of your machines are working good and hauling the mail....can't wait to hear "the rest of the story".

Feel better soon
God I wish I could have made it down there. Mines getting PCed or I would have been another person in line getting beat!!!! Lets hear it Jeff, we want to hear more.
As far As I know they are still down there. they stayed last night it's about 4 hours i think for him to get home so it will probably be some time tonight when jeff get's on.

Any one for camping St. Joe in October? I will be down there one week end in October for my bachelors party. this is every one's invite to go down ride all day and be stupid all night, don't tell the women.
As long as its not the 10th I am down, we are going to Little Sahara that weekend. What weekend are you planning it? I want to go down there and ride again, I have only been once.
Well Im a little embarassed reading this but, yes it was fun! The 4 snows seemed to work ok, but nothing like my old 6 paddle haulers. Charlie you get some of those haulers or paddle brats and you might be right there with me. I must admit though without dissing your bike at all, when we switched bikes and I felt yours, I dont think your 501 with a stage 3 had us much as my 471 with a stage 2. But yet again, what bothered me the most was your suspension on the very bumpy sand. My build is working great and the exhaust pipe a friend and I made works awesome.

I had the head ported by WPP / WICKED and only paid about 450. I asked Brian and Gary (Gary is the actual guy porting) to give me a portjob like Brians 59 horse stockbore! But the head I sent them had intake seats that were a bit more worn than he thought, so I had them replaced. The head to me is incredible! I cant believe I came up with this kind of power with only a cheap straight bored 42mm FCR that I bought from dtzalba (Racers Edge bored) I didnt pay that much for it and I might have it taper bored next. I remember mixxer said there would be a lot more left in it if I had the front fully tapered. Cant wait!

My other cam was the web 493/739. For some reason I really just wanted to run a mild cam so I can leave the head as fresh as I can for the indoor flat track season coming up. Everyone seems to be telling me how destructive the 493 is also, so for now I am running mild. I didnt want to mess up and ruin a fresh head. I will have this thing dynod soon and dialed in, but it runs great with a 168 main. I regret selling the stage 3 hotcam I used to run. I will have to try one again with this head.

The funny thing is Charlie and i switched ignitions to see if anything changed. I have a programmable dynatech and when we plugged it in his 501 and swapped his stocker in mine, he seemd to like the extra revs, but nothing changed as far how we stacked up. That is also when the drag strip heated up down there and the most people were down there as had been all day, thats when we saw the alky banshee with a long swingarm. He was destroying everyone and I just knew I couldnt take him. He killed me out of the hole with his paddles agaisnt my backwards 4snows. But , I launcehd in 2nd and pulled up on his backdoor and dinged the limiter. I said crap under my helmet as i realized I still had Charlie stock ignition in! Then I dinged the limiter in 3rd and held on when I shifted and I smoked him by at least 4-5. Not really sure how much I was beating everyone else by. The strip we were in was bumpy and at the speeds we were at I was too scared to look back. The second race was identicle, but i didnt hit the limiter as hard and was more relaxed. Yeah, Charlie, he did leave then! Buh Bye! :welcome: I just took off easier as I could not launch as hard as i wanted all day or my front end was too high up. I did not get beat the entire day, and that is a first for me!

Although he is not a sponsor anymore and i dont want to cause trouble, I can honestly say they can re-produce huge power for pretty cheap!!!!!

Charlie is not lying, we had a good day!!! Sand is not really my realm but I had a blast!!!

My sons had never slept in a tent before, let alone slept in a tent during the remnants of a hurricane. We got wet this morning when we packed up and left, and of course it quit raining as we exited St. Joe :banghead: I should have slept in.
There was a lot of wind damage all over the place and I cannot believe I stayed there through that. Power was out all over the place.

nada, The banshee was a younger dude who could not have weighed more than 120. It had blue and black graphics and maybe custom paint or soemthing. It sounded prewtty mean!!! I saw a yfz with a big swinger but it was yellow, I didnt get too excited about beating him becAUSE he was not a pound under 280 .. lol

Thanks for the St. Joe update it helps with the withdrawls. lol
I can't picture the Banshee but it's nice to here the R's taking them.
Hopefully I'll be there next weekend, probably taking it easy breaking in the new rings, crank and ported head. I can't wait to see what the ported head will do.

Everyone have any idea when they will be down next? Sounds like Oct. sometime?
I might be able to make it on the 11th. I think the 18th I have to go up north for family stuff. I hope I am not mistaken. Ill check and see with the boss.

Dude I will definitely go to a Dyno Day. I have always wanted to know how this stock bore MotoXperts motor runs. Let me know when you are going.
Will do...I can get us a deal on dyno for 60 bucks and we can make a bunch of runs. It would be great to ahve all three and yours is an an 06 to boot. The dyno is a stingy mofo though! I heard if any of us break 57 we will be kicked out of the shop :p
Thats cheap, they want 100 bucks an hour here. Wheres this dyno at?
we can go to TNT actionsports in Quincy, IL , its the closest, they sponsor my friend Justin in EDT. It is kinda a special deal I have worked out.

Or we could get a group deal with the Ticeman and drive 4 hours north to Iowa (maybe not that far). Nothing would be better than that! However with the economy and 4.50 cent gas in Illinois, its tough to pay more money. But the extra knowledge and tuning might be worth it.

Let me know a week or so ahead of time and I will let Johnny know and get you guys worked in. Jeff you better put your web back in or get a stage 3 and bring that beast back up here. Sounds like she is runnin good. Let me know exactly what each of you is wanting to do tuning wise and I can see what we can do. Like if you want to try different exhaust just jetting or what.

Whats the deal with the Nace indoors? I heard he was not having any this year.
I will run your 208! lol Ok tell Johnny I want 57/40 with a stage 2 , 60 with a 208 and 39 torque. See if he can tune that up, but Im not paying extra j/k

not having NACE????? thanks for ruining my day...lol I havent heard, but that will suck. Seems like everyone is down on the guy. Oh well, AT LEAST HE PUTS AN INDOOR RACE ON. They have some at SEMO though.

Well the 04 is gone so I will have my 208 sitting on the shelf.

Ya well he kind of brought that on himself. What he did with the EDT National was crap. Where is semo at? I'll need to find something this winter to get stuff dialed in and stay in shape.
Sikeston, same town as the Flickerwood indoor, it seems they are also racing Sikeston every weekend right now...
