Shocks for Drag?

Im thinking about putting some 300ex on the front, all the drags I will be doing are flat, no whoops nothing. But im undecided about the rear, what do I do about that? Cant afford to get a shaw yet so would the best option be a lowering kit or does anyone use 300ex rear?
