Southern Offroad Racing Promotions will be conducting round 3 in Leesville, Louisiana at the Leesville Motocross Park on April 11, 2010. All quad riders are invited and spectators are appreciated. Come out and show your skills on the track or just watch those that have some. For those of you that do not have a membership yet, this will be the last race to join for points. Round 4 will be coming up soon so get prepared. Southern Offroad Racing Promotions will be having Round 4 in Splendora, Texas at Splendora MX on May 2, 2010. This track is most of the local riders’ favorite. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to race or just observe the well keep Splendora. This track only has a few power hook-ups so call early to get one. Friday:
Gate will open at 5:00 p.m. for camping only.

Saturday:
Gates will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
Riders meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. at the scoring tower.
The scheduled practice will be from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Early race registration will be from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in front of Danny & Jan's trailer. Tech Inspection will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in front of Danny & Jan's Trailer.

The activities planned for the day are:
4:30 p.m. will be the water balloon fight for all of the SORP racers that wish to participate. Sorry, no grown ups will be allowed to play! This will be held in between the concession stand and the gate house.
5:00 P.M. will be the first Chicks rule club meeting. All women young and old are invited to do the girl thing! Place to be announced at the riders meeting on Saturday Morning.
6:00 P.M. will be the 6 volt, 12 volt, and 24 volt race for all of the 'future speed demons" on the pee wee track at Splendora. It is free of charge, the participants must be 4 and under, and they can ride any vehicle that has a 6 volt battery, 12 volt battery, or 24 volt battery. Trophies and prizes will be handed out to all participants. All voltages will compete against the same voltage so there will be three races total, each getting three laps to go around the track. Moms and Dads it is a must that you get those batteries charged up and ready to race and come cheer on your speed demon! If you should have an extra battery operated machine that you can bring, I am sure we can find a child to put in it.
7:00 P.M. will be the horseshoe contest for all the gentlemen in the group who wish to play. This will be held in the road in front of Danny and Jan's camper so as you play into the night you will have some light on the subject.

Sunday:
Gates will be open from 6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Registration will be from 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. up at the scoring tower.
Tech Inspection will be from 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. in front of Danny and Jan's Camper trailer
Riders meeting will be at 8:00 a.m. up at the scoring tower.
Scheduled Practice will begin at 8:30 a.m. (each class will get 3 laps each).
Racing will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Award Ceremony will be immediately following the race.

Fees for the weekend will be:
$15.00 for primitive camping per night, $25.00 per night for electrical spot. If you wish to get an electrical spot, then you must email Michelle @ rageatv@sbcglobal.net to reserve a spot. It will be on a first come first serve basis.
Practice Fee for Saturday will be $20.00 per rider.
Sunday everyone will pay a spectator fee of $10.00 per person.
A concession stand will be available for the entire weekend.
Don't forget about the split pot raffle - 1 ticket is $2.00 or you can get 3 for $5.00, and at the awards ceremony we will pull out a ticket to split half of the money collected.
Don't forget to get your newsletter whenever you come in the gate. It will have all the information you need to carry you through to the next race.
Last but not least, we will be taking donations for the garage sale through this race, so bring all your goodies with you!!

A change in tracks will not stop us. Round 5 of the S.O.R.P. “Fast Track Quad Racing Series” will still be held on June 6. The only change that has been made is that the race will be held at Three Palms MX instead of Cowboy Badlands. This race will be held on the main track of Three Palms. This is one of the few tracks around here that is very fast and technical all at the same time. This race would not be the one you want to miss. So come join us for some high flying and quick cornering quad racing. You can visit our site at www.southernracing.org

Saturday, June 5th
Riders meeting at 8:30 a.m. in front of scoring tower at the main track.
Practice at 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Scheduled Practice)
Early registration - will be in front of Danny & Jan's Motor Home from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Tech Inspection - 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in front of Danny & Jan's motor home.
Sunday, June 6th
Registration @ 6:00 a.m. in the scoring tower at the main track.
Riders meeting @ 7:30 a.m. at the main track
Practice will begin @ 8:00 a.m. We will run through the practice schedule one time - each class will get three laps.
Racing will begin @ 9:00 a.m.
Awards ceremony will immediately follow the race.
We will be pushing the clock this weekend to get everything started on time due to the heat. We will not be having any kind of activities this race.
Please be sure to have plenty of liquids to keep you hydrated this weekend.
Don't forget that we will be doing the split pot raffle this weekend and I think that Angela will have the gun raffle tickets for sale with her too. There will be more information on that at the Saturday Riders meeting.

Due to unseen circumstances round 6 of the S.O.R.P. “Fast Track Quad Racing Series” will not be at Highlands MX but will still be on June 27. The race will now be held at Splendora MX instead. This is the one track that we all know and love, but there have been some changes. So come out and test your skills or sit back and enjoy a show. I promise you will not be disappointed. Southern Offroad Racing Promotions will be conducting round 7 in Hockley, Texas at the Cornerstone Motocross Park on July 18, 2010. This will be a new experience for both, us the riders and the track. Cornerstone has never opened there arms to quads before, so lets make a great turnout. Join me and S.O.R.P. as we promote quad racing in Hockley, TX. There are a few things you will need to know before showing up. You can visit our site at www.southernracing.org

1) EVERYONE must fill out the membership form and minor release forms, but he will not be charging the membership fee to the quads. These forms are available on his website and he strongly recommends that everyone download them and fill them out before you get to the park because it will slow down the check in process when you arrive.
2) If a minor shows up to ride without a parent present, then the forms must be filled out, signed by the parent/legal guardian, and notarized before you will be allowed to enter the property. The website address for the park is: www.csmxpark.com
3) Schedule for the weekend:
Friday:
The gates will open @ 4:00 p.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. This will be for camping only.
Saturday:
Gate will open @ 9:00 a.m.
Practice will begin @ 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This will be a scheduled practice as we have had in the past. (The track will also close at 3:00 for prepping for Sunday)
Early registration will be from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the scoring tower
Tech Insp. will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Place T.B.A.
The gates will close @ 10:00 p.m.
Sunday:
Gates will open at 6:30 a.m.
Registration will be from 7:00 - 8:00 in the scoring tower
Tech Insp. will be from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.
Riders meeting will be @ 8:15 a.m.
Practice will begin right after riders meeting
Racing will begin right after practice is over
Awards ceremony immediately following race.
Fees for this weekend:
$20.00 practice fee per rider for Saturday
$10.00 per person spectator fees for both days
$15.00 per night for camping
4) Remember that Cornerstone has no electrical hookups so if you plan on camping, please make sure you have everything you need.

S.O.R.P. Round 8

Southern Offroad Racing Promotions will be conducting round 8 at Three Palms MX in Conroe, Texas on August 22, 2010. This race will be a first for S.O.R.P. and many riders. Due to the heat this race will be our first night race of the season. There will be lights and plenty of action to watch so now no-one has an excuse to no show up to race or watch. Join me and S.O.R.P. as we promote quad racing at night. There are a few things you will need to know before showing up. You can visit our site at www.southernracing.org

Friday Night:
Scheduled Practice will be from 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Camping fee's: Electrical - $35.00, Primitive - $15.00
Practice fee's: $20.00 per rider on Friday, $17.00 per rider on Saturday
Spectator fee's (on Saturday for race) $10.00 per person
Saturday:
Gates open @ 9:00 a.m.
Practice will be from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Three Palms will be charging for this practice the amount of $17.00 per rider. You do not have to practice if you do not want to - this is just an extra practice for those that could not or did not want to practice Friday night.
Race Registration will be from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the scoring tower.
Tech Inspection: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Place TBA
Riders meeting will begin @ 6:00 p.m. in front of the scoring tower.
Race Practice will begin @ 7:00 p.m. It will be a scheduled practice of three laps.
Racing begins @ 8:00 p.m.
Awards ceremony to follow immediately after race.
Other activities going on Saturday:
The chick rule club will be crafting in front of Scott & Michele Sanders trailer around 2:00 p.m. Look for the pink balloons.
Split Pot raffle will be held along with the Gun Raffle.
Remember that we will be racing on the main track this weekend. It does have some dark corners in it that we will be removing from track for the race. If you have never run a night race before, I would strongly suggest you try to get out and practice on Friday Night so that you will know what to expect on Saturday Night! Don't forget to pick up your newsletter when you arrive to get all the latest information.

S.O.R.P. Round 9

Round 9 of the Southern Offroad Racing Promotion is about here. To be exact September 12, 2010 at B&C MX in Highlands, TX. As you know, Highlands was bought out and they have changed their name. They are now called B&C MX. There was rumor that he was doing major changes to the track so Danny & Jan went to check it out. The only thing that has changed was the holeshot. He has shortened it up just a little so that hopefully it will slow down the speed. Other than that, it's still the same ole track!! You can visit our site at www.southernracing.org

Friday Night:

The gates will open around 4:00 p.m. for those of you who want to come in and camp. There is no electricity hook ups or water, so please come with generators if you plan on camping. The park is officially closed on Fridays, but they will open for us to move in if you want to.
Saturday:
Gates will open @ 7:00 a.m.
Practice will start @ 9:00 a.m. and run until 3:00 p.m. This practice will be big bikes, little bikes, for 30 minute spans each time.
Registration will be from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. in front of the black trailer of Danny & Jan's. Look for Karen Moore.
Tech Insp. will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and the place will be announced when it is determined.
Sunday:
Gates will open @ 7:00 a.m.
Registration will be from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. at the black trailer
Tech Insp. will be from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Riders meeting (if needed) will be at 8:15 a.m. in front of black trailer
Practice will begin @ 8:30 a.m.
racing will begin @ 9:00 a.m. or immediately after practice. Awards ceremony will follow immediately after the race.

S.O.R.P. Round 10

Well it is sneaking up on us quickly!!!! The last race of the S.O.R.P. Fast Track Quad Racing Series is here. Round 10 will be held at Splendora MX on September 26, 2010. So come all and see who can hold on to there points and who gets past up. This is where it comes down to the wire and racers need these last few points to be #1. Split Pot raffle will be held this race and the gun raffle will also be going on. This is the last chance to get your gun raffle tickets for the winner will be drawn after this race.
