That sucks the big one!

Sounds like really need to go through the whole bottom end. I would check the case good. Im betting the crank drifted over and then the rod bearing went. If the rod locked up first then the crank wouldnt turn and rub on the cases. Probably the debris from the crank rubbing got into the big rod bearing locking it up, either way it needs to be all checked out. Where are you located?
I can tear it down for you and see what you have going on.
