Today I finally went riding with my HMF pipe, I took out the quiet core, and let i all hang out. I have one question though. I think I was hitting the rev limiter, but I'm not sure. I started the bike and hit the gas for a second and let it rev up a bit, and i heard a wierd sound at the very top end, at first i thought it was a jetting probelm it kind of sound like it was breaking up, then i noticed it more and more when i was in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and i was trying to push the revs. I was just about to rejet it, but my buddy told me it might be my rev limter, I have read many times that when guys get a new pipe, they hit the rev limiter much faster. I'm going to go back to a 14t front sprocket if it is the rev limiter, i definately think i can now, with all the added torque!!!

what main jet are you running?, open air box or not? I am running a 185 main jet, no air box lid, and I dont think I have hit the rev limiter yet. Make sure its not something rattleing.

Its sounds like your hitting the rev limiter. I have done it a few times when shifting. I noticed it alot more with the 13 tooth sprocket in the lower gears. I now have the 14 back on and I only hit it when power shifting while on the gas.

Joe, it sounds like you are used to riding 2 stroke. I think your hitting the rev limiter, put the 14 back on it should help. The 13t made 2nd and 3rd to short for my liking and I would hit the rev limiter a lot. Now I have a 39t on the back instead and love it.

You hit the nail on the head, i was hitting the limiter in 2nd and 3rd, and I'm running a 13/39 gearing. I am going back to a 14 in front and hope this helps!

I used to bounce off the rev-limiter all the time on my KFX. After putting on a Yosh full system, it was much easier to do because you could go through the gears alot quicker.

Haven't done it on the TRX yet, but I've only put 2 hrs on it so far, so I'm not quite holding it wide open yet! soon, so soon...

An aftermarket ignition would always help the problem.

I was running the same setup before the HMF pipe, and I never hit the limiter, added the pipe, and now I bounce off it in the lower gears!
