piston rings

Where can I get replacement rings for a Venom 14.1 480 piston? Would that be something I would have to get directly from CP pistons? I need the piston pin clips as well. Are the nikasil cylinders ok to hone to break the glaze or is it not neccesary?

you can get the rings directly through venom for a good price. someone with more experience will have to answer the second question

KBR would be a good bet. Go give Kam a buzzzzzz

Venom, KBR, or Woodward Specialties all can get you taken care of

yes you can break the glaze, but only with an aluminum oxide ball hone, this is what my engine guy did for me.. i dont think it was a diamond hone.... i always cleaned and such, but now im sold , when you change piston or rings, you will be horsepower ahead to hone it out and check to see if it is in spec

Cool, thanks for the help guys. I cant wait to get this going again. Sent my head and carb off to Racers Edge for some port work and +1 exh valves and boring the carb to 42.5mm. Hope this thing rips. Thanks again.
