..I never been to silver lake but if your doing drags and its loose sand ...haulers for the win...literally
G
i was thinkin haulers
i was thinkin haulers[/b]
Haulers work great, i have had a set of Sand Stars and 2 sets of Haulers now, the Stars were better for cruising around but the Haulers are better for straight line racing. They race in low areas where the sand is wet so traction is not a problem. The only bizniggle about the Haulers i have now is they are 22" Triple buffs on 8s and they make the turning a little unpredictable.

You can always just run knobbies, they work good enough to have a good time you just have to carry momentum to get over top of the hills.
haulers for sure

its your call, but if its your first sand trip to enjoy the full experience paddles is the way to go.
Knobbies are the way to go for your first trip to get a feel for the dunes. Then go with Sandstars so it's not such a drastic difference in turning. If you feel you go straight more often than whipping around in tight turns then go with Haulers. This is my opinion with duning; I sometimes take the Sandstars off so I can do some trick whips at the top of some dunes while duning.
I've actually put my knobbies on at the dunes and had a blast. I can dune faster on my knobbies than my paddles because they handle better. If you have other things to spend your money on, I'd just run your knobbies.
