Or are they even nessesary????

i ride desert mostly and i am considering getting nerf bars or a peg and heel guard kit. i have looked at
Rath, Pro armor, and AC racing, Blingstar, and DG. what other companies are better than these? i want black ones with heel guards.

what nerf bars do you have? how do you like them? what would you change yours to now?

thanks

PS. they also have to clear 22 rear tires with a stock axle

ive destroyed like 3 sets of pro armors lol alot of ppl have good luck on them

i recently switched to pro-armor powergrip pegs with no nerf bars and for xc racing i like it alot better for desert i know alot of desert racers dont run nerfs, just pegs or pegs/heelgauds

most everybody else runs nerfs, alot of ppl on here use pro-armor

I run Pro-Armor we have a team account but i would love a set of Rath's but can't cough up $400 hundy
right now.

yeah i was looking at the Rath and they are pretty sweet, i dont really like thier "heel guard" though. i would want the sheetmetal instead. your quad is beautiful by the way i'm jealous! :unworthy:

Thanks it's going thru a little re-vamp right now new front plastics & hood and graphics along with new nerfs, i will post some pics when done.
Just a thought...

I have been in your situation, but I decided to go with the Blingstar w/o the heel guard for a little over a hundred bucks. We are both newb's and have limited money. I raced C class and have had great luck with them. I like the fact if slam into something the nerf flex's, but my heel guard does not.

Put that extra money into a stabilizer or getting some new tires to get rid of the ballonies.

i recently installed the pro armor power grip nerf bars.... things are very solid looking. installation isnt hard. what i found out that most ppl hate about pro armor is they get the fat peg set up with the heel guards connected and the welds break on the heel. i currently run the stock peg and stock heel guard and once i wanna mod those i will just buy power grip. its a smarter investment i think.

i love my gibson pro-pegs, i think x-factor is the same...

I had DG on my 400ex and went to AC racing propegs and now on my 450 I run the Blingstar Natalie series..IMO they are the nicest bars by far but they cost allot more. I myself do not like healgaurds because I hit my boots on them and feel funny so that helped me make a decesion in purchase as well.
I run Pro-Armor Fat Pegs on both bikes and have no intention to switch. I've only been able to break them where the sheet metal heel guards meet the main tubes. But I just pull them off and weld them, it only takes a few minutes and about $10.

i like those, how are they holding up and where did you get em from?

the heelguards look like they're custom!?
I make those since last year and they are pretty strong. I race in the pro class here in Canada and a couple of friends in my class are riding my stuff without major problems so far. Team KTM canada are using them for both XC and MX series and nothing broke so far so im pretty happy. I do everything myself from cutting, bending to welding ect...

If you wanna buy a set you can get them from me of course and also from Fourwerx , one of the site sponsor.
I run the Rath Comp series with the heel guard. I have bounced them off of trees rocks and everything in between. I was kinda scared when I first rode with the new nerfs. I thought the heel nets would let my foot get closer to the rear tires. They didnt. If you ride with mx boots your foot wont fall down in the heel net. I think htey are worth the cost. The pegs are sharp too and I have no wear on them and they dont eat my boots up either.
i realy have liked my rath monster pro pegs with net heel gaurds they work great and the pegs keep your feet there, i had ac's with roll pegs the last 2 seasons and i like the raths alot better
Got Blingstar DC Racers....... holding up very very good....... nice nerfs, pretty good quaility. I dont run heel guards, im with quadforce, they get in the way. I move around alot and i need the room. But Blingstars are pretty tough. some people have luck with them, and some dont. I like em.
