So guys as the title says i need to remove my head pipe to get to the upper motor mount nut. I know it’s probably a dumb question, and i think i know the answer. But the crush gasket is brand spanking new. If i take header off to get to nut, can i put the header back without replacing crush gasket?? Thanks

Yea buying a new one isn’t the issue. I dont have one on hand and im riding tomorrow. I bought this stupid carb heat shield and you have to take apart half the quad to put it on 😆. it fastens with motor mount. Wanted to put it on tonight. But dont want to run the risk of an exhaust leak. For a part i dint even need 🤦🏼‍♂️. Ill wait till later in the week when i have gasket in hand, (honda shop is closed on sundays) then ll install carb heat shield & gasket at once. No biggie, thanks for the reply🤙

Yeah when I put it back I didn’t have a leak. I’d at least try it an see. It doesn’t take long to hook up the exhaust. I would try it out tonight lol
Does that look like gasket sealant or glue (whatever its called) . The black stuff around the head ring? I ask because the stealership recently did my motor work, and it had a leak before hand. It wouldn’t surprise me if they left the old gasket in and added some gasket sealer.
if it is, i have none of that on hand iether 🙄. Dont wanna break the seal and create a leak.sorry i know im thinking into it too much.

It looks like some type of gasket maker. And if that’s really what they used, that would be really disappointing. That is a place you should never use gasket sealer.

The little bit of black goo Yeah that doesn’t look normal. If you pull the header all that should be there is a copper gasket in the head. Hopefully you got it fixed.
