I was just wanting to see how everyone lower their 450r's for flat dragging. I used to use tie downs on the 400ex but I want to hear what everyone else does. I will most likely race tonight.
last time I as at the drags, by friend was running 9.6's and 9.7's. he went again the other day, but this time tied the front end down with tie downs, and he ran a 8.4Originally posted by lukester720@Jun 21 2004, 01:51 AM

I find that very hard to believe....I have never seen any 450r run times even close to that...did you put Nitros on it or something? Do you have any time slips you can show?Originally posted by 86atc250r@Jun 21 2004, 12:29 PM
I run a set of PEP ZPS shocks on the front from my 400EX. On the rear I used the stock rear shock and mixed and matched some parts from one of my 400EX ZPS setups to get the ride height where it needed to be.
I can do full power launches without any worry about the "light" front end lifting.
Best time so far on a dirt 300' strip is 6.001 (RT included). Best speed is around 52mph. That time is with strictly a HRC setup.
I'm hoping to break into the fives soon with jetting and TPS adjustments on my FCR. We'll see. If not, a pipe and a 12:1 piston are next on the list.
damn, thats awsome. Is there really that big of difference between racing on dirt vs concrete. wow.Originally posted by 86atc250r@Jun 21 2004, 04:46 PM
Lude - you are running 1/8 mile with those times and speeds.
Timeslips?
Look here for bike 199 - this was my latest run

In the one below, I missed a shift but still pulled off a good ET (total time was not so good - which seems to be reflected in the RT ---- strange results that night)

This one is my best run so far, unfortunately they did manual scoring that night so only total time shows -- no detail breakdown

And - here's a run from my Cannondale and my 400EX - both from 2002 (this is a paved 1/4 mile strip)

(ignore the 1/4 mile speeds - their final speed traps were hosed up that night)
thanks man that clears up alot....now it makes perfect since....Gee do I feel stupid  ....I never said I knew how many feet there were.... ..Originally posted by 86atc250r@Jun 22 2004, 09:05 AM
Lude - 1/8 mile is 660 feet. We're running 300' dirt drags.
