HRC Kit

Anybody know what the dyno says before and after the HRC kit? And is it true that it voids the 6 month factory warranty if you get the HRC kit? Just wondering, thought about getting one. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any solid proof of this.

Though my dealer (who could be full of poop, but I know him out of work and he isn't a liar) said the HRC kit gives a 13% gain throughout the band. and it doesn't void warranty.
its supposed to be 36.5 horsepower stock, and 42 horsepower with the HRC kit...yes it makes a big difference.....Also...HRC is Honda Racing Corp. so it should not void your warrenty...its made by Honda....Also it will depend on your dealer, If you want the correct answer on that, then call American Honda..
42hp sounds like a friendly number. :D
does that include a CRF cam or a different cam made for the 450R? i know its an airbox mod, cam, and end cap for the pipe, and i think a jet kit, is there anything else in it?

its a HRC cam, but not a CRF cam. Its just a more aggressive stock cam basically. yes it comes with the kit. the HRC kit includes jet kit, hrc cam, new air box lid, and a competition HRC end cap for the stock exhaust. it opens it up from a 118 main jet to about a 185 ...big gain. It also comes with a waterproof air thingy to cover the hole in the new airbox lid....

Im doing the same thing but cheaper. I bought a HRC exhaust end cap on ebay for $8.50. I bought the Sparks racing Super charger air filter kit for $45.00. I bought a Sparks Racing Jet kit for $34.00. A stage 1 Hot cam, $135.00 which is basically the same aggresiveness as the HRC cam, and take the air box lid all the way off. put the needle jet on the 3 clip and use the 185 mainjet and you'll be screaming.

All for $222.50. ...So I guess if you think about it the 300 dollar price for the HRC kit, is not that bad...

But if you are really on a budget, simply leave the Hot cam out, then you can still jet it out to a 185 jet, but use the stock cam. then you only spend about 87.50...not to bad.

its a 190 if you replace the stock exhaust. with the HRC end cap you will only get up to about a 185, If you replace the exhaust you can go up to a 190 or maybe even a 195...but I highly recommend only going to a 185 with stock exhaust....

But yes you are kind of right kid. :D

^^My bad man...I thought you were talkin about what comes with the HRC Kit itself...I do agree that the 190 is too big, seems to run a little rich in most cases i have heard...

no thats not installed....and if your dealer is selling it for 200 you need to jump on it....it lists for 299.00...
I read where the stock 450r puts out 42 hp and with the HRC kit it bumps it up to 47 hp, that comes out to 13% increase. My dealer is going to install the kit on mine and its not going to void the warrenty. To the people who has already installed the kit, did they have to change the shims when they installed the cam?

we are talking wheel horsepower, not crank horsepower. If you look on your title, it shows you the crank horsepower rating...and it is 43.4 I believe, I will have to look again....but thats at crank, not at the wheels.
why does it say RWHP after it???

on the title....I dont think it does...I will have to look again...if it says that, they are wrong.
i dunno about on a 450R
but on my 400ex title is says 34.6 RWHP
i think it was 34.6 or was it 36.4
how much more aggressive would the CRF cam be than the HRC cam? im also considering a higher compression piston, any ideas there? should i also salvage one from the CRF? i like the idea of not voiding the warranty though :) i'm probably gonna get a new pipe, either baldwin or sparks or hmf, not sure yet. basically im just asking which would be better: crf cam, crf piston, aftermarket pipe and jet kit, with k&n filter.... or just buying the HRC kit? i'm sure you're all with me when i say i want to beat the poop out of the YFZ's... thanks for the help, my blood runs red for a reason....
