GT Thunder Revalve and what a-arms

hey all,
i was pretty sold on the GT Thunder $740 revalve setup, keeping in mind i could add +2 standard travel a arms later. (maybe hoping) would that change anything with the revalve specs, say if i bought the revalves first and then got the a arms later? also, are the gtt a arms better than the jd? i guess first of all, do the jd come in standard? they are more expensive and both will fit i think. on a budget, and if it would work like this i could do it in steps, back, front, a arms and axle in the future. i dont do mx, xc type riding, but no racing. i guess what i am asking is, is this a reasonable idea?
thanks

im going to use a quote from rick: those who know ride jd. just go with jd performance. dave is awesome to deal with
ok man thanks. what about the valving in the shocks, would that change with the +2s? just standard...

i dont think so because it is standard travel which you can use the stock shocks

if you get +2 arms later, you will have to revalve your shocks again
but if you plan on getting the arms real soon, go ahead and have them
valved for the +2's standard travel.

btw, gtthunder has a complete package including arms, which are +1's
whatever route you go, either stock arms or +2's, have gtthunder to do
your valving, you will like it!!

why would you have to revalve different for ST +2 and stock?

a stock shock on +2 arms will be wayyy soft, too much sag and will bottom easily.
I've got revalves from gtt for my stock arms and if I were to get his +1's, I would need to send in
my revalves to get valved for his +1 arms.

he's right the added length changes the shocks geometric ratio

its best to first get a-arms
See less See more
When you send your shocks in you have to know what a-arms you are going to have . Brand and leangh i know some a-arms have different mounting points and they are still std travel changing the leverage ratio wich will affect the way your shocks work , jd performance would be a good choice
I run +2 JD Standard travel arms with GT Thunder shocks....LOVE IT!!!!!

You will have to get the shocks valved for the arms....as stated, the leverage ratio will change with the longer arms.

JD is VERY GOOD to deal with!
JD for sure. The quality is excellent and customer service is second to none. You won't be disappointed
thats my exact set-up.
:beatingdeadhorse: hate to beat a dead horse but valving is a-arm specific. keep in mind what adjustments are available for what ever a arm you choose. the jds offer very rider friendly adjustments I.E. camber, caster, and toe angle. not to mention stellar customer service.

GT THUNDER KICKS A$$ TOO
