stock sprockets 14f/38r , which is the easiest way to go to a lower gear ratio without having to cut out a link in the chain or go to the limit of the bearing carrier adjustment? 1 tooth more in the front, 3 teeth less in the rear, 6 speed transmission... I wish (250R days). What is your opinion? I just hate the fact that im in 5th gear so quickly and just spinning the motor so high in the rpm's. High RPM's are what kill a 4 stroke in time (rod bearing failures), so what do I do? I want your opinions and what you may have done. Whats your setup like?

Wait, your post contradicts itself a few times. It sounds like you want taller gearing, but your title says lower gearing but you want to lower RPM. Increase the front sprocket by a tooth if you want the quad to pull longer per gear and space out shifts, decrease the front sprocket if you want to shift less with a slower overall speed.
