Fuel tank help pleeeease

I ahve an 07 which did have a standard tak on it which when fitted rested on the carb. this didnt seem normal and upon inspection i discovered it was an 05 tank. I then purchased an IMS tank but this does the same thing. What should the back part of the tank sit/rest on? a picture would be great. thankyou.

is there a plastic piece in between your motor/carb and tank???
i believe thats what it sits on...

You do have the pan underneath the tank and frame right?

you should have a guard that sits on top of the motor between the tank and motor.
