cutting valve seats

does a shop need the valves to cut new seats? If i was putting kw plus ones all the way around a 04-05 head couldnt i just tell them the size and the angle?

my shop and many others prefer to have the valves that are going to be used, to at least to check for seal IMO its a great practice

Simple answer..... yes!!! The machinist needs the valves so he can place the seat on the right spot on the face of the valves! Also to get the stem height right!

need the valves if you want it right! just for the reasons listed
