Yes, I’ve had to file some sets of rings, and yes I’ve been able to just run others.
Regardless of what others have done, the responsibility is yours to properly measure your ring end-gap and determine if it needs to be filed or not. Every situation is going to be different. Fresh plating, a worn cylinder, intended Usage, etc. will Have an affect on whether you need to file the rings or not.

I’m a 1st time quad rider. I have a 2004 Honda TRX 450r Kick start quad. And I notice at night when I turn it on for a 1min or 2 my Exhaust pipe start to slowly glow red. Is that normal for the quad?
