Just went out and looked at it...not real rusty, and I ran my fingers across it and got a decent amount of lube. So, what should I add to refresh it?
What solvent to clean, and what oil to lube? Thanks!
i have a chain scrubing brush that i clean the chains after i ride with brake cleaner on the non o ring ones and with o-rings i just pressure was it ental and then spray chain lube then chain wax to keet it on there
Lube then wax? Does that work? Sounds like a good idea.

I do something similar, I powerwash the chain clean then let it run on a stand for a few minutes to get the chain a little warm. Then I spray chain wax on it and let it set.
Wax keeps it from slinging everywhere? I got the honda chain lube and its suppose to be a no fling formula or some BS, but it gets everywhere.
i take some wD40 or some tirewet that you use on car tires to make em shiny, and a soft brush or a cloth, clean off the dirt and old oil, then i add some hnda chain lube with teflon, good stuff. at the same time, try to clean the sprockets as much as possible and adjust the chain to spec.
Royal Purple has a nice synthetic chain lube I use, it is strange and foamy when you spray it on and you can tell it wicks into the chain past the o-rings. It later turns into a dry film so it doesn't attract dirt. Seems to work pretty well so far since my chain/sprocket wear seems good and my chain never looks dirty unless I get in mud.
after a good cleaning I use the dumond stuff with o-ring conditioner...
I just pressure mas mine real good and then take and prop it up and let it run while using a soft brush and some dawn and get it nice and clean. then was it off again real good and then use chain was but I get the chain warm first and then spray it down and let it set for awhile and then ride it. If you have an o ring chain do not use wd40 on it. It dries out the o rings...........

does anyone else use graphite? we used it years ago, since it dries, when we'd ride in the dunes. I use it on my streetbike, and havnt noticed it eating o rings yet, and it has 12k miles on it. Just wondering.
i pressure wash my whole quad then throw some royal purple on the chian and let it set while i adjust it,
i havent noticed any wear on my chain so far and i also used that method on my blaster for 3 years and it worked all good
I saved my used kerosine from cleaning the stock air filter (now K&N) to clean the O-ring stock type chain. With the bike on a stand useing a parts cleaning brush and an open tray to catch and re-use kerosine, clean one section at a time this gets everything out. Then wash whole bike, I never pressure wash O-ring chain to close. When bike's allmost dry use a rag to dry the chain the best I can. I use Wurth, saBesto HHS 2000 highly adhesive, pressure-resistant synthetic grease. this stuff is the best! clean, clear, doesn't fly all over everything! I use a dry rag, spray one section of the chain with rag in other hand under chain for overspray and to massage the lube in evenly and my chain and sprockets are shiny clean!!!

nice tip! ill have to remember that!
I just clean it then either use honda stuff or some castrol chain lube for dirbikes
man u guys spend more time on your chains than your engines..... i oil mine once and a while.... presure wash it ocasonally carfully... its the original chain and is just this year showing wear... 3 years of use is alot more than i exspected with the abuse i put it through... and i dont spend much time on it.
im chain abusive, i lube it whenever i feel like it lol. be it wd 40 or engine oil.
