I’m looking into resurfacing some rotors for my 450. Does anyone have experience in this? If so what grit sandpaper do I need?

Never tried it, may I ask why you’re doing it? You can get a new set online super cheap. Probably even cheap at the dealership.

I have an extra set of rotors but they are scorched, you can sand them down to get a smooth flat surface again as long as it’s in service limit. I thought about buying new ones but I want OEM quality or better but to buy all 3 OEM rotors was $300 and I don’t know a good aftermarket brand.

I didn’t realize the set was that much. Thought it was cheaper. As far as “good” aftermarket ones not sure.
I would think a break disc is one of those parts where you can sacrifice a little quality for cheaper price. But to each is own. Let me know what sand grit you use and how you resurface them. I would think the sand paper would scuff them up versus a smooth finish. But im an idiot YouTube mechanic 😂. Good luck, post the results please.
85 bucks on eBay. Probably just as good as stock if not better.

57.00 bucks, can’t beat that.
I’ve sanded and straightened a lot of rotors. But generally I’ve done it on aftermarket rotors that have lots of life left and are expensive. If you are trying to remove gouges you ain’t going to get them out with sanding. Just use a RO or DA sander with an aggressive disc if you just want to remove glazing. It’s not something you are gonna do by hand unless you have days of free time and don’t mind having sore hands.
