try sticking a flat blade screw driver inbetween the tank and the plastic and twist it while you try to take it out maybe that will apply enough pressure to make it come out.
i had the same problem, i tried the whole: stick something under the plastic to keep it from spinning. didnt work. ended up pulling the plastic over ther the screw to take it off. sucks.
x2 same problem just used flat blade to force plastic over screw. sucks.
Had the same problem. I took the plastic off then put a vise grip on the washer and then loosened the bolt right out. hope this can help
I'm having this problem on both of the bolts on my 05. My 07 that I had had one of the bolts do it. Any other ideas or solutions? Tried the flat head deal as well. Don't have any vice grips handy. Thanks!

Try searching...This has been brought up many times and there are some good solutions out there.
Well got it handled. I found it easier to take the front plastics and gas take completely off before doing this. You have to pry the front plastics off over the screw with a screwdriver. Then pull the bolt up really hard with some pliers till it pulls the whole brass insert out of the tank. Drill out the hole with a really large drill bit. Smooth it out with a grinder or dremel. Then fill hole with epoxy pretty liberally. Put brass inserts back in with bolt in and washer off. Put epoxy around edges and any scarring on tank. Let dry overnight. Smooth out epoxy with grinder or dremel. You're done. Quite a bit of work but it won't be spinning on you anymore! Hope this helps.
