This is from the June DW's. If you look at it closely you can see that it it is Black and silver. Tell me what you guys think.

The colors are just inverted. in some squares, it is red. I think it looks pretty cool though.

There was a guy on another forum that said one of his relatives work at one of the honda plants and they are making some black and silver 450r's for this year. It didn't really say if it was a limited edition or just another color option. I sure can't wait to see one though!

I agree that would be awesome if they did do this, but to me, it seems like some of the squares just have a "black and white" option turned on in the program used...

Looks like the black and silver rumors are likely true.
All the red squares are blurs to throw you off. The ones that are clear, clearly show black plastics and silver graphics.
Unsure how you guys can see enough of the tires to make a definitive determination on what they are.
I personally think the 450R looks great in black & I think I'll probably black mine out once the plastic becomes available (especially considering how inexpensive the factory plastic is (granted the black costs the same as red)):

I love that...the color is awsome.
Black and silver would look pretty cool even though black scratches bad and looks old fast. That picture form dirt wheels is a black and white picture were you take the sqaures and color those. Look at it closer, it's not a black and silver quad, it's a black and white picture.

I think it was put in black and white on certain squares, while leaving it in color on the others...
86atc, I was refering to the first picture (the dirtwheels ad) not the second. I would be very surprised if honda came out with and all black 450r, yamaha already has all black limited additions. I don't think you'll ever see a 450r come from Honda in any color other than red.

I was too - look at the shock head in the top picture (the 2nd pic is really a red 450R that I altered in Photoshop).
It's next to impossible to 2nd guess Honda - not worth even trying. No one believed they'd make a yellow 400EX back in 2000, but they did for the 2001 year model.
My question is why would they make a picture like this if they were not planning on releasing one in a different color? They wouldn't want a 450R to be seen in anything but red in one of their ads unless they were planning something -- then to blend a black base 450R with red in such a way as to make the picture appear deceiving, really makes one wonder....
We've all seen Honda teaser ads before (well, at least I have) & this looks like one.
Combine this with the claims someone was making about their factory connections (I know, I know - but he did make the claims before the buzz about this pic) and it's a real possibility.
Personally I would be more surprised if they do not do it than if they do.
If they do black plastic, I'm afraid I'll have to place an order - looks very good in my opinion... If not, I'll probably eventually order Maier in some off the wall color like I did for my 400EX.

Black with silver graphics would be cool, I think if a guy had that set up with some red headlight bulbs it be be mean looking.

Actually, I was looking into getting the HID bulbs for my R, then I won the raffle for the carbon fiber hood so I had to can that idea. That reminds me, I will have to call and pester schmitthead about getting another raffle set up for the end of the month.

I dont think they were trying to give us a sneak preview of whats to come but i think it would be cool to see a black/silver 450r. My buddy just got a honda 600rr crotch rocket thats black/silver and it looks sweet. The reason why i think they made the pic like that because the ad is a ohtsu tires/honda ad. The new 450r doesnt come with ohtsus like most of the other honda sport quads do. It would just be weird for ohtsu to run an ad with dunlop tires on ya know.
