Anyone running Alcohol?

Well i traded a guy for a 40mm Lectron that was supposed to be on a 450 but I am not sure. The carb looks in good condition and I know how to jet bikes pretty well so whos running alky and what kind of power increase did you get. i am thinking like +5HP but I am not sure. Also do you run any additives in the fuel? Any help would be appreciated. My bike is an 05 450r with a Venom 12.25 piston, Hotcam stage 2, Dasa exhaust, Sparks intake and it runs really good, just looking for a little more HP. LMK Thanks clint

on e85 gas /alky we only gain 2.3 hp wasnt that great for the hassle... will run cooler... but be prepared to learn jetting... nitro realy make for crazy tuning... 20 drees will make it run all messed up.. e85 is cheap here half the price of race fuel...

so you gain power when running e85? why is that? you lose power and mileage when running it in cars

no straight e 85 it is 40% more fuel .. upped the jetting... its more responsive... im not sure on cars ....the ltr l450 uvs it .. which is fuel injected... it is more responcive in cars is what im told...probly not straight they have gas in the tanks...fuel milage yeh but not really going for mileage on the yfz we put it on...the torque numbers went up as well in the mid to top so yeh it gained power..
when we run e85 in our avalanche we notics no change in fuel mileage, 18mpg alll the time
R u getting the big jetting swings with the e85 or the alcohol? I know alky is very sensitive to temp. but is e 85 also?

I believe you have to either sand or get a new needle, but mainly jetting.
E85 is methanol. Pretty much the same as running alcohol. For proper tuning, you will need to alter the shape of your needle and your jetting will go way up.
e 85 is ethanol i thought, methanol is just a little different molecule
E85 is not the same as methanol/alcohol

has some similarities but not the same
THE E85 ISNT AS MOODY .. WE GOT HE ALKY NEEDLE ,,,40z% MAIN JET UP ...48 TO A PILOT TO A 52... ITS ALOT CHEAPER HERE AND ITS MADE FROM CORN,,, PLUS IT HAS 16%UNLEEADED GAS NO PURGING

you dont have enoough compression to utilize the benefits of methanol, and the 40mm lectron is to small!
what would I have to do to convert my FCR over to alky.......??
i think the lectron are alot easier for alky.
