It's only a couple hours from SH to Florence. You should head this way and hit the sand.

The black sands are on the crest of the cascades, would be almost as far as the coast.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but I live about 15 miles from sweet home. Did you ever make it up this way?

Don't worry about bringing your quad in September. All of the riding areas will be closed down due to fire concerns. Looks like you may have missed out.

 

u sure 'all' riding areas are going to be closed down? You mean all the wooded trailes like they did to us last year? I think it went on for about a month. at least I know the upper nestaca/browns camp was closed for a while last year. Not sure they could do that to private land though...his buddies place should be okay right?

The dunes obviously will not close...and you will only be like 1.5hrs from Wbay. I would check that out instead. especially if you don't live in OR and this is your only chance to exp the dunes here

 

We spoke to our buddy up there and he said that they ride year around. He actually live on 100 acres. His brother lives on the back 40. He has a 10 mile xc track and a mx track. I kinda want to do some other trail riding though so hopefully it wont be closed. he said we will hit the dunes and the black sands. I will def hit you guys up when we come down.

The name of that private riding area. When I lived over there it was like $20 a truck load to ride all day.

 

I think there is a ATV MX race at the Albany MX track next month, you should come up for that, its not that far from SH
