Hey guys, getting ready to put the head back on the 450! The dealer didn't have an OEM gasket in stock so I got a Cometic. Has anyone had trouble with them sealing? I think I will be fine since these motors are studded. I was thinking about going 5 ft./lbs. over torque spec while using moly, then cold torquing them the next day. Just wanted to know if anyone had some advice? Thanks!

Cometic gaskets are top notch.....

40ft lbs is plenty.....but I will admit I routinely use 45ft lbs when working on a nitrous machine....

IMHO the cometics are better then stock, my friend was having a leaking issue with OEM head gaskets and switched and put a cometic gasket on and hasnt been a problem since

i had one set of cometic gaskets i bought for stock bore, and they leaked. they were missing a portion of the gasket that the stock had.

the second set i got is fine though.. so ive got a mixed opinion on them.
