anyone done the conversion yet?

I know this has already been discussed in other sections..
but I couldn't find it in this section.

I talked to a owner/builder yesterday on this conversion,
and he is really impressed how the bike runs...
starts better, better throttle response and more power.

I was told there is a "kit" that's from the 08's that I could put in my 06.

would like to hear from the 08 guys how their bike runs
and if anyone has done this to their 06's or have some more
knowledge, I think it would make for some good discussion.

btw, he runs the 08 stock cam as well.
I'll be riding his bike this weekend to see how it compares to my 06.

The heads are exactly the same. The only thing that changed was the decomp on the cam and the cam sprocket. There is really nothing else that changed between them. I know some like the new style decomp. I have personally had nothing but problems with it in my drag bike...I own both an 06 and a 08 both er's. Any other question feel free to ask...

he's always running bigger cams but in this 08 setup, he's runnnig stock cam.

^^^^^^^in your case, what's giving you trouble on your 08?

The cam I just bought isn't letting the motor bleed off the decomp so it won't start. The decomp is around 100psi and the starter won't turn it over.

i like the old style decompressor myself, i have seen the pin in the 08's break and cause lots of damage
