A arm bushing replacement?

246 Views 29 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Bullvine rider!!
Well fellas I have some play in my houser a arms and was wondering if there’s a good rebuild kit out there? This would be my first time trying to replace bushings. I know it’s probably cheaper to get some low hour a arms and replace them, but i dont want to take that route because I like these houser’s I have.
Does anyone know where I can get the correct bushings for houser a arms?
And a run down on how to do the job please? I definitely need some direction here. Thanks.

not sure about yours, but my housers are from like 2010 and had this odd upper bushing setup where its like a metal sleeve where a bearing goes in. the bearings can only be pressed out from the inside out-you cant press them thru! i wound up ruining 1 till i realized this. they sell them at this site per houser (where i got mine) https://www.mudmotorsports.com/aboutus

you need to look at your upper arms and see if they have this odd set screw that clamps the end of the arm around this bushing

post up some pics
I would take the opportunity to upgrade to bearings. I have bought the bearings direct from Houser in the past, think it was $80 for the set.

Here’s pics of upper and lower. What’s better for water, bearings or bushings ?(I know neither cuz water sucks lol) but water is part of my trails I can’t avoid it completely . Or do you need me to take the arms off the frame?

those look like newer arms they may sell these days. you dont have the set screws on the bottom and different style lower ball joints - the new ones press in. you can likely get bearings or in the least new bushings from house

Ok, but the bushings themselves don’t have that set screw you mentioned? I can go switch to bearings has hoser stated yes?
Im having a hard time finding

im having a hard time finding bearings on their website, maybe im typing incorrectly, can someone send me a link please?
Just choose spare parts from the menu up top and then TRX450R. You may need the sleeves and dust covers too.

This is all I could find in the menu. And when I use there search bar. And yes I do need new sleeves. This kit says it comes with bearings and dust covers. Does it look right to you? Cuz it doesn’t to me.

Its like 225 total, yeesh!! Expensive! But I’d rather rebuild and keep the a arms, then try to buy a new set.

Rocky mountain atv has lots of things like that but don't see the houser brand bushing set but they do have others. Maybe contact houser directly? I have learned in the past that it never hurts to shoot the manufacturer a email directly. They are either complete jerks, or more often then not cool as hell. I emailed Dyno jet and told them I feel like I needed a in-between size jet from the two they sent me because my elevation lies between the two, they said no worries, its in the mail, free of charge 🤷‍♂️
Yea that’s what I’ll do 👍
Thanks for the contact. Yeah I’m planning on calling them Monday. And I did check out Rocky Mountain ATV they do have bearing kit I just gotta make sure it’ll fit these arms.
