How many of you have had the chance to ride the YFZ and the 450r.
My buddy has a YFZ and he says that mine is like a caddy compared to his. What do you all think?

Yes, Im the friend with the yfz, and yes I do think that the TRX is the most comfortable quad that I have ever ridden. That being said, I still woulden't trade my YFZ for one.

Well as you guys all know that Honda is well known for there plush suspension. The YFZ suspension is set too stiff. Which we all know can either be adjusted or new shocks can be bought to accomadate your riding style. I plan on getting +1 long travel suspension in the next few months to make my YFZ450 ride like I want it to.

I love my 450R suspension....I just dont like how high the seat sits. I set it down to its lowest posistion, and it feels great now!

i had to do the same thing. i havew my preload set all the way up on the front and back. it came a little stiff from the dealer but i got it right real quik.

i have to agree with yall about the pre-load. road mine for about 1 hour and had to do something. i dont see the need for aftermarket shocks at this time, but zero- preload would be nice just for the lower cg.

Its all in how its set up. With stockers your limited.

So how do you adjust it to make the quad sit lower and not lose that nice suspension?

You guys have got to be joking, I have a 450r and if the YZF is stiffer I couldn't imagine!!!! I already sent my shocks off to get revalved and re springed, I'm surprised they arent blowing seals...the roughest ride I ever had!!!! 400ex shocks were softer. We will see after I get them back.

my shocks were real stiff from the dealer, but i adjusted them with a quikness. they also have to be broke in.

When i was at the races this weekend there was a guy there that had plus 2's on stock shocks. he was in the 450 A class. He said that they were fine . the yfz from the factory is valved for plus 1's.
take it for what its worth.

If you guys goto R Riders I think a guy there is running +2 a-arms with the stock suspension.
