doubt it, if something goes wrong in the tranny, most likely gonna get peices of metal or such. the tranny has alot of rubbnig gears which polishes off a black residue from the oil making your oil get black faster, not a sign of oil breadown tho dont confuse the two.

may i ask what oil you are using, are you fully draining the old oil using a warm engine and then draining?
have you changed anything?
mine did this when i installed the tusk cluth kit.
maybe you have a bad seal and your getting motor oil into the tranny???????????

I run amsoil syn in both sides (btw designed for wet clutches)
and yes I warm the engine before I change the oil and filter.

nope........Lumi may be on to something, it sounds good anyways.

my engine oil still looks good, it's the tranny side that's black.

and when I change oil, it's both sides with new filter.

maybe it's done this all the time and just now catching it?????
