Just picked up an 04 that is mostly oem minus a slip on and 125 main jet. The crank went and I have completely rebuilt the motor and slipped in a 11.1 forged piston and HRC cam. Should I leave the 125 main or get a bigger main or just swap the carb altogether to a fcr from an 06 or newer trx

Carb tuning can be different for every build based on a lot of different factors. Have you read the Jetting sticky in the top of the engine forum? That will give you good insight and a lot of great info about jetting.

Stock main is 118, so you are barely bigger. But if you have the airbox lid on, that might be all the bigger you need.

As far as the 06+ carb, with a pretty mild build you probably won’t see much increase in power with the FCR. It will make it snappier, but personally I don’t know that it’s worth it. That stock carb can go a lot farther before it “needs” to be upgraded.
