08 450 r suspension

Ok got an 08 450r, front end pops like the shocks are too short or possibly too long when I go through a rut or pop wheelies. If I pick up on the front of the quad I can hear it. Is this normal. Shocks were reworked before installing them. They are factory shocks but reworked for my weight and triple rate springs. Never noticed this before I swapped them out. They did come off an 05 450r originally. They are set up soft for riding rutted rough terrain and a smoother ride. Just curious if this is normal or if something is wrong. Bushings and all seem to be tight. It's like the shock is almost too short and its reaching the end of travel on rebound.

It shouldn't be making a popping sound, why do you say to short? Did you check all the a arm bushings and ball joints? My first though was the shock bushings were worn or a sleeve missing in them. Other than that I thought maybe the springs didn't have tension all the way on them and once fully extended weren't touching the preload adjusters. Who redid the shocks?

All bushings are good, ball joints, tie rods, shock bushings everything looks good. I have the spring pre load about half way on the shocks cause they are soft which is what I wanted. And I guess popping may not be the best description it's kinda like the shock or the a arms are fully extended. Not allowing any more travel. I'm sure they are factory arms. Not long travel. If I take the shock loose the a arm goes down further. So I'm assuming the shocks are fully extended. Shocks were reworked by JET suspension.

The shocks are probably right. Most arms will move farther than the shocks will allow them to. The shocks will limit this in order to keep all the geometry right. If you loosen the shocks and lower the arms all the way and raise them all the way you will notice the toe and camber start getting into extreme places when the arms go to far. Some arms even allow more movement then the balljoints are made for and can cause a lot of trouble. Most good suspension companies will measure and set everything up right. Some just go for length at full drop/raise and can cause a lot of problems. That is about as short of an answer as I can give.

Check to see if they removed the top- out spring -this will give extra stroke but tops out metal to metal and tends to be noisy!
