duke416ex made a lot of good points.
Again, no matter what, if I bought used shocks I would have them rebuilt, and rebuilding can get costly. I just had a set of LT aftermarket front shocks, a LT aftermarket rear shock, and a stock rear shock rebuilt and I wanna say it was about $750, and that’s before shipping and I didn’t have any spring changes done.
As far as the Legacy shocks, I don’t think Elka shocks are that great to begin with, then you look at those super cheap shocks and I just don’t think they would perform very well. There’s gotta be a reason they are so cheap.
If you go aftermarket shocks I highly recommend Motowoz. They are great riding and great performing shocks and the price isn’t terrible.
I’m not sure what year your machine is, but if it’s a first-gen you could do the 06+ rear end swap and have the stock 06+ shock gone over and built to your specs by a reputable shop. If you have a second-gen have the rear shock done. Then for the fronts you could do the extended travel mod on your stock shocks, or go LT aftermarket shocks. For XC racing I don’t think the aftermarket LT shocks are a must. As far as the Alba arms, I wouldn’t trust them things too much, I’ve read some bad reviews on them.
