2008 trx450er gear next to starter gear wont spin???please help

So I bought my first 450er last week, and was told the starter clutch was bad. I tore the engine down today to replace starter clutch, after further inspection/ I find out the when you hit the starter button the starter is not strong enough to spin the gears that even spin the starter clutch. It doesnt spin at all the starter it self. So I unhook the starter and run direct power to it. Spins perfect. So Im lost. I checked to make sure timing gear was fine etc. what else should I be looking at

To me I am guess it's more Electrical Connection related rather then a mechanical issue.

So either you have a bad starter solenoid, a blown fuse or bad connection. I would first check the Blue 15 Amp Fuse Location (circled in red below in the picture that I posted below) If that fuse is okay then I would take a screw driver or something metal to jump the 2 post's to the Starter Solenoid and see if the Starter spins the engine over then (Don't be freaked out when you see a few angry pixies) you will see a few sparks so don't be to startled lol.

If that works then either you have

1. No power to the Starter Push Button...
2. Bad Starter Solenoid it's self
3. Bad connection or a wire came loose

Send a message via Yahoo to duke416ex
Check voltage to the starter, if that is good clean everything and check again. If it is good, you may need to open up the starter and check it out.
