Weird.. I got the same MP tool and it's snug.. I know some people cut down a socket to do it.. maybe try that at least you can cut it to the right length..

 

ill take a picture but i got two 05 motors side by side im tearing down and its the same fit on both. kinda like the teeth arent long enough. i wasnt looking to make a tool cause i hate ruining good sockets.

 

Mines an 06 so don't know if that makes a difference.. and yeh.. thats why I paid the $8 off ebay for one...

 

i paid like 9 bucks from MP but figured id get my own tool and it said it replaces the factory tool from the 05 manual....
