I got 20 inch rear tires, 15T front and 38T rear. I am going about 69 mph right now. I'm not real worried about my top speed but i am worried about my gears being too short and revving out. When i had 18 inch rears and a 14T front sprocket I had really short gearing and hated it.

Im wondering if anyone has 20" tires with 14/39 gearing and what they think of it. I mostly ride XC. I figured out that it'd roughly be a top speed of 45 mph but how short would the gears be?

You may want to recaculate you speed using the caculator at the bottom of this link ---

Thanks! Now that gave me another question.. What's the max RPM on an 04 with a stock CDI?

I like 14/38 for that type of riding, but thats with some motor mods

My top speed right now with 15/38-20" is 69 mph. So using that calculator if I tell it my max RPM is 8500 that will figure out the top speed and shift rpms with a soft terrain like sand.

Thanks for the information dude.. I can even use that at work now! haha
