All you have to do is have a good trouble free run and you guys will do good. Make sure the bike is well prepped, your pit strategy is worked out, and just get the quad to the finish. With these long races, you do not have to be the fastest out there, you just need to be the one that has the least problems. Have fun and be safe down there!

This might be a stupid question but do you change the oil at all during the race? i assume the answer would be yes but you'd have to do it quickly, haha

Can not speak for everyone, but I doubt anyone does. You will check the level and add some if needed. I know if I was racing the 1000, I wouldn't do it, you loose to much time. The longest continuous race I have ever done was just under 600 miles, we did not change the oil during it.

This past August we raced a 1,000 mile race, but it was staged over three days, so we raced just over 300 miles a day. After you finished for the day, you were given one hour of free time to work on your quad. That race, I changed the oil every day during the free hour, but if it was straight through 1,000 miles, I would not have changed it.

Just as good as it did at the beginning. Actually, after the 600 mile race we did, I tore the motor down, it looked perfect. I just replaced the piston, put it back together, and ran it for the rest of the season and most of the next before I tore it down again.

We won! class 24 450cc professional. we did not change the oil during the race. we had some major prolems but were lucky enough to still beat the second place team by 7 hours and the third place team by 9 hours. we blew a shock out and blew aprt a rear hiper 70 miles before i got on the bike and the guy had to limp it all the way to me to change it out. that cost us about 4 hours. when the shock blew out we had passed everyone in our class and everyone besides Matlock in class 25 the Open Pro class we were only 17 minutes behind him.
Nitro83
Did ya blow out a Evol or the Axis rear ??
