I found a 04 yfz450r for $900. He says it jeust needs a jug sent me pics and it looks in great shape. But he took the jug out and said he thinks it ran out of oil. Is this a good buy or not??

sounds like a great buy, but i would pull apart the whole motor and go over everything since it was run out of oil.... be prepared to replace the crank, bearings, gaskets, piston, cylinder, head and cams... since if it was run out of oil, all of those most likely are damaged.

pickiing it up sometime this weak :). Found out bottom ends already redone but i need a jug, cylinder, cylinder head. valves and everything with. Not to bad for 900 bucks though.
