I have a stock 06 450er and raced a couple hare scrambles this year and had a blast. My problem is that i know nothing bout this sport. But i would like to build a somewhat unexspensive race quad. What all do u guys recomend and whats a must to have. suspension, stabalizers, beadlocks, best tires, etc....

well for best tires id recomend the maxxis razr 2's there a little heavy but six ply, douglas wheels has a new championship box out that comes with 2 beadlocks and mudplugs. works has some cheaper shocks but if u have some money to spend go with the fox floats and a set of handlebars like the faast flex ones will help with woods riding and it might be a cheaper alternative to a steering stabilizer

Stabilizers will save yoru wrists a lot. I love my precision and I have tried several different ones. Tireballs are a must for me, but I have trouble with flats. Some people have good luck with tubes in the front and tireballs in the rear. As far as suspension, it kinda depends on how far you think you will get into it. If you think you may eventually try to run A or pro, then I would research and get a good aftermarket suspension. If you are just gonna do a few here and there just to have fun, go with revalves. Wire your quad to 24 volts and you will do a lot better on the starts, or put a kicker backup on it.

look into some +1 std shock arms (JD of course) then run some 4/1 inset wheels that will get it back to stock width. Your geometry improoves alot from doing this, not to mentiopn that you will the also have caster and camber ajustment to fine tune.

And those adjustments are very nice when you know how to set them!

Come see us at one of the Mid-South races, we can set that for you at the track.
